If you are going to cover a classic soul dancer, then go big and by big you have to mention the perennial Northern Soul classic "In Love" by Tony Galla - that pounding piano, the ambience, the sentiment and the rising tension - just a relentless slab of pure energy.
Replicating a tune from 1966 is no easy thing but The Go Steady, a three piece from Edinburgh have nailed it and even added to it with the aid of Rod Spark (Second Generation, Groove Tunnel etc) who introduced some great horns and played the amazing Hammond part too.
A stormer would be a good describing word.
This is already getting airplay and proving very popular so be quick!Heavy Soul Records is very happy to get The Go Steady debut out on vinyl and what a start!
