The Surprises recorded and released the single 'Jeremy Thorpe Is Innocent (We Know Who Did It)' in April 1979. The band were part of the vibrant Birmingham music scene that included UB40, Dangerous Girls, The Privates, The Au Pairs, The Denizens, The Beat and Dexys Midnight Runners.
The first in the Heavy Soul Archives series, this brilliant piece of arty Punk ("Politics in a lame gown") has been a long fave here, and the bonus is that the two flips sides are here as well- the speedier 'Little Sir Echo' and the fabulous 'Flying Attack'.
Comes housed in an A3 poster pack, like many good DIY 45s used to be!!
